MindNode on iOS 27 and macOS 27
Every year in June, Apple announces new versions of its operating systems, which then ship in September. This year is no different, and over the summer we’ve been busy implementing new features and optimizing all aspects of MindNode for the new operating systems.
This includes a slight modernization of our app icon, optimizations for Liquid Glass, and a new extra-large widget size.
We also tried to read the tea leaves and prepared MindNode for a foldable iPhone. Now that Apple has announced the iPhone Duo, we’ll focus on further optimizing MindNode for this new form factor, with an update planned for next month.
Find Your Ideas with Spotlight
With this year’s operating system updates, Spotlight understands the structure of your MindNode documents much better. Instead of receiving a flat list of searchable node titles, Spotlight now understands individual nodes and which document they belong to. Search for a thought, select the result, and MindNode takes you directly to that node in your document.
This new integration also feeds into Siri, allowing it to better understand and act on content in MindNode.
From Siri Conversation to MindNode
MindNode now integrates directly with Siri AI. You can ask Siri to create a new MindNode document using the context of your conversation. For example:
- “Create a note in MindNode with all my tasks for today.”
- “Create a note in MindNode with a packing list for a weekend in London.”
- “Create a note in MindNode with a summary of this conversation.”
Initially, we recommend referring to a MindNode document as a “note”, as Siri tends to recognize this more reliably while it learns how you use MindNode.
Siri AI is available only on supported devices and in supported regions and languages. Availability also differs by platform. For example, Siri AI is not initially available on iPhone and iPad in the EU, while it is available on Mac in supported languages.
Lots of Small Improvements
There are plenty of smaller improvements in this update as well. One I want to highlight is improved reliability when connecting AI assistants such as Claude Desktop to MindNode through MCP.

MindNode for iOS 27, iPadOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27 is available now. The macOS 27 update is already available on Setapp; the Mac App Store version is currently still in App Review and will follow shortly.
