Dynamic Themes

Let your document blend seamlessly with your system’s appearance. With Dynamic Themes, your documents automatically adapt to light and dark mode. So when your system switches to dark mode in the evening, your documents will transition as well. We updated all of our built-in themes to support this new dynamic behavior.

Flexible Layout

Manual layout was a beloved feature in MindNode Classic, and we are now bringing it back in a majorly revised form. Instead of having to choose between manual and automatic layout, our improved automatic layout engine can handle both at the same time: drag a node anywhere on the canvas to override its automatic position and move it back near its parent to re-enable automatic layout. Automatic positioning is only overridden for the current node; all of its sub-nodes will continue to use automatic layout.

We also got you covered if you want more freedom in positioning your nodes. On devices with a keyboard, hold the ⌥ (Option) key, and on touch devices, rest a finger on the canvas when dragging a node with another finger. This will prevent the node from snapping back to its automatic position.

Folders

Since shipping MindNode Next this has been at the top of your feature wishlist: Folders. You can now group your documents however you like — by project, client, subject, or anything else. Just create a new folder in the sidebar and drag any document into it. As documents, folders are available on all your devices and are always kept in sync.

MindNode Next File Format

A small but important change is coming to our native MindNode file format. In addition to supporting MindNode Classic documents, you can now export MindNode Next documents. The new file format ensures improved compatibility when sharing documents with other MindNode Next users and supports new features. Our Backup features in MindNode’s settings will now export both Classic and Next documents.

Other Improvements

• By pressing command (⌘) and clicking the folding indicator you can now fold or unfold the clicked node plus all its sibling nodes.
• Improved reliability and fixed various bugs related to node dragging.
• Fixed a crash on iPhone Pro Max when rotating to landscape while viewing an open document.

Fixed a pointer interaction glitch when dragging knobs on iOS.
