Stickers, Emojis & Photos

In MindNode, you can add Stickers, Emojis, and Photos to enrich your mind maps. Using visual elements in mind maps makes ideas easier to remember, understand, and connect by engaging visual thinking and boosting creativity.

Sticker

Stickers are graphics handcrafted by our own designer. They are available in a tinted and a colored variant. The tinted variant automatically adapts to the current color of your node. The color variant has predefined fixed colors.

Emojis

You can use any Emoji available on your system in your documents.

Photos

Import photos from your photo library or launch the Camera app directly from MindNode to take a new photo and attach it to a node.

Basic Interaction

Independent of image type, the basic interaction is very similar. For simplicity, we will refer to Sticker, Image, and Emojis as images in this section.

Add Image

Add media menu open with options Stickers, Emojis, Photos, Image Playground
Add media menu

Select the media button in the toolbar to access a menu with all supported media types. Pick one of them to display a native picker that lets you browse all available items. When you select an image, it gets added to the current selected node. If no node is selected, a new main node with the selected image will be created.

💡

On devices that support Apple Intelligence, you can use Image Playground to create an image for you. MindNode will provide the title and note from the current nodes as context to Image Playground to help you get started.

⚠️

You can browse your entire photo collection in MindNode, but the app has never access to all your photos. We value your privacy and MindNode only gets access to the photos you select.

Select Image

When a node has a title and an image, you can select the image by first selecting the node, then waiting a split second, and finally selecting the image. When only the image is selected, the resizing knobs appear as squares on the sides of the image.

Delete Image

Select the image as mentioned above and press backspace. Alternatively, there is also a Delete Image action in the context menu of a selected node.

Resize Image

In MindNode, you can resize the entire node or just the content (title and image). When you select the image, square knobs will appear on each side. Drag them to change the size of the image.

Remove Image Background

When an image has a prominent center object and Apple Intelligence is available on the device, you can automatically remove the image's background. Select the image and press the "Remove Background" icon.

💡

This works great if an image features a person or the image was created using Image Playground. Removing an image background is not supported for image types that have no background, such as Stickers and Emojis.
