Due to the server problems I experienced yesterday, I’ll be moving my webspace to a new hosting provider. This move won’t be noticeable by users of my site, but comments will be deactivated during this time.
Update: Successfully moved to the new server. Everything seems to work fine.

New in this build:
- (New) RTF Export
- (New) New node attributes related to node title handling. They are made persistant and exposed in the inspector.

I’ll probably move the canvas background attributed to a new tab in a future release.

When I first tried to add a MindNode listing to the software tracker tucows and the interface told me that it will take about 1500+ days for my listing to appear, I thought this was a serious glitch in the software. But when I checked again, nothing had changed. I did some research on the internet and it reviled that you really have to pay $50 for every update to your listing or else you have no real chance to be listed. I guess this is one of the websites to ignore in the future.

I updated the keyboard shortcuts in this release. Please let me know what you think of the new mapping! I’m not very happy with the mapping of the Enter-key. Perhaps I will switch the shortcut for “Enter title edit mode” and “Create new sibling node”.

I got several requests regarding my use of shortcuts in MindNode 1.0. A lot of people don’t like my keyboard mapping and I understand that it’s a very bad idea to change it shortly after a 1.0 release. But after spending a lot of time talking with users and thinking about this topic, I decided to update my shortcuts in 1.0.1.
So what will change:
- Node Creation
Enter will no longer enter the title edit mode. It will create a new sibling node. Cmd+Enter will be the new mapping for edit mode and Option+Enter will create a new child node.
- Arrow Keys
The arrow keys are currently used to change the location of a node. In the new mapping they allow to navigate the mind map logically. Option+arrow key will allow to relocate a node.
This new mapping is open for discussion and please let me know what you think of it. I attached the entire key mapping of my application as a pdf file to this posting.
For clarification:
Command Key = Apple Key
Option Key = Alt Key
Bold = change from 1.0 keyboard mapping
