MindNode (Pro) 1.4.1
I released MindNode Pro 1.4.1 and MindNode 1.4.1 today. This is only a minor release which fixes several annoying issues
Improvements and Fixes
(MN) (MNP) Removed margins when printing a document.

(MN) (MNP) The “Insert New Parent Node” menu item now correctly creates a new parent node.
(MNP) Fixed the “Create Connection” menu item. It’s now only active if a valid selection exists.
(MNP) Small improvement to the registration dialog.

Update 9/7:
As announced last month, I increased the price of MindNode Pro to USD 19.95 with yesterdays update. Thank you for your understanding.
I also decided to continue the MindNode (touch) MindNode Pro promotion. The -20% coupon code will stay on the AppStore page of MindNode (touch) until 1.0.2 is approved. MindNode (touch) 1.0.2 will have a new -20% coupon code for MindNode Pro embedded in the application (Help View > MindNode Pro Coupon). Due to the restrictions of the AppStore I’m sadly unable to give a discount to people who already purchased MindNode Pro. Sorry!

Awesome! Any news on MindNodePro supporting images?

Fabian:
Image support will be part of MindNode Pro 1.5. I want to release it later this year!

Mindnode Touch is currently 7.99$. Since I already own Mindnode Pro, is it possible to get a discount on the Touch version instead?
Thanks.

Dear Niclet.
I’m sadly unable to create discount codes for MindNode (touch). Apple is not providing developers with this ability. This is the reason why I have to do it the other way around. I understand that this is not very friendly towards MNP purchasers, but the alternative would be to give no discount.

Dear Markus,
I switched from Freemind to your MindNode and must say I absolutely love the way it looks and the simplicity!
The only thing I’m missing is the ability to move nodes to a different one (sometimes, during the creation of mindmap, you realize that a group of some ideas logically started belonging to another group). The ability to do this actually for me is one of the greatest advantages of doing mindmaps on a computer vs. on paper.
I’m a Mac user and this function doesn’t work here. Any chance it works with MindNode Pro? If not, will there be an update for it?
Thanks in advance and keep up the great work!

Dear Lucie.
Thank you for your comment!
You can move one node to the other one using copy and paste in the free version. MindNode Pro offers convenient drag and drop reconnecting. It’s a free download so I’d suggest you simply download and try it out.
Cheers!

Hi,
I can’t find any place to use the coupon code from MindNode Touch?
I get a price in my local currency (NOK), but see nowhere to put the coupon code.

@OM:
You need to fill it into the “Coupon/Promotional Code” field. This field appears on the page after you pressed the “Add to cart” button.

Hi Markus
Great update. I love your software and it has been really useful. It would be even better if we could get the outline view like the one in the touch app in the desktop version too. If it is not to ask too much, being able to import omni outlier files and have them displayed as mind maps would be another killer feature.
Keep up the great work.

@Kenji:
I’m considering an outline view for the desktop version. On the mac I added to because I think a outline view makes navigation large mind maps a lot easier on the iPhone.
OmniOutliner supports OPML output. MindNode, MindNode Pro and soon MindNode (touch) support OPML import.

Thanks for the reply. I just checked it and it worked great. The outline I made using mind map converted into omni outliner like magic.
You should advertise more this feature. I have seen a topic or two in the omni forums with people looking for mind mapping software with omni compatibility.

Dear Markus,
I recently purchased MindNode Pro, version 1.5.2. It’s wonderful – thank you! I have already built a very large network of academic information that will likely continue expanding exponentially. This program is truly a breakthrough for my thinking.
One problem I found is that only the main node has the capability to have child nodes on all sides. Is it possible for all parent nodes to have the same capability? My map is becoming rather one-sided and i would like to fill all empty spaces.
Also, will future versions contain a built-in search tool that will be able to locate keywords? I anticipate this being very useful for extensively large maps like mine.
One other thing: I’m using MindNode almost like an annotated bibliography, the entries of which are gathered from (and linked to) related scientific articles. Often, my literature search leads me in many different directions, which sometimes converge on the same publication. Thus, in order to avoid redundancy, I would like to connect parallel branches of my map onto one child node. Would something like this be possible? It would also be great if the program recognized redundancy, but, of course, this is secondary.
Again, thank you for creating the program! I hope your business blossoms. Also, I like your new office space :)

Yulia,
At the moment it’s not possible to branch of child nodes in different directions, however I’m considering adding this in 2.0
I’m not sure what you mean with locate keyword. MindNode has build in search capabilities.
To connect parallel branches I recommend that you have a look at cross connections. They can be styles to look identical to normal connections.
I hope this helps,
Markus
