Apple approved MindNode (touch) 1.0.1 and it’s now available in the AppStore. This is a minor update that fixes a crash when importing mind node documents via email and improves WiFi sharing.
I’m currently working on a second minor update that will fix issues when exporting documents via email.

I rereleased MindNode 1.4. The initial build (1185) didn’t support importing MindNode (touch) files. This is fixed in this new build (1186). I’m very sorry for this error on my part. You can update your installed version by selecting the MindNode > Check For Updates… menu item.
This issue only affects MindNode. I’m not rereleasing MindNode Pro 1.4.

I released a new MindNode application today: MindNode (touch) is the iPhone/iPod touch companion of MindNode on the desktop. It has the look and feel of a MindNode desktop application, but features a well designed multitouch interaction. I spent a lot of time with my experience designer Wilfried Reinthaler designing the interaction and I think we were able to transfer the MindNode experience to this new platform.
MindNode (touch) is exclusively available on the AppStore. You can find more information, including a Screencast on the MindNode (touch) page.
MindNode (touch) works great without MindNode Pro, but both are a perfect match. If you are interested in purchasing MindNode Pro, please have a look at the MindNode (touch) AppStore page. I’ll post a -20% coupon on there (it will be available as soon as Apple updates the page). This coupon will expire in two weeks.
Edit (09/23): I’m extending the promotion until 1.0.2 is released. This version will include a coupon that will allow people who purchase MindNode (touch) to get MindNode Pro cheaper.

I released new versions of MindNode and MindNode Pro today. Release 1.4 focuses on enabling sharing with MindNode (touch). MindNode and MindNode Pro are now able to import MindNode (touch) documents. MindNode Pro is also able to share (import and export) documents via Wifi and export documents via email.
Besides iPhone support, MindNode Pro also brings a new Smart-Layout functionality. This feature is similar to calling reorganize nodes after every change of the canvas. In the current implementation Smart Layout ignores main nodes, but retains the ability to rearrange the order of nodes using the mouse or the keyboard.
Pricing
I will raise the price of MindNode Pro to US$19.99 on October 1st and to US$24.99 shortly after the release of the next major version. This new version will enable image support and I expect it to be released in about three months. I’m raising the price to allow me to turn MindNode into a viable business. Thank you for your understanding!
Please also review the upcoming blog entry about MindNode (touch) for information about a special time-limited -20% promotion.

MindNode (touch) will be released next Tuesday (09/08/09) and will be exclusively available through the iTunes AppStore at a price of US$7.9 / 5,99 € / £4.99. MindNode (touch) is a standalone application and doesn’t require the Mac version of MindNode. However MindNode Pro 1.4 is required to transfer documents to the device. This version of MindNode Pro will also be released on Tuesday.
As a side note: The AppStore review team got some very bad press recently and thus I was very surprise how quick they handled the MindNode (touch) review process. The application got approved in under 8 days although I provided an incorrect MindNode Pro download link with my submission. Yesterday I heard back from them requesting a working link and only a few minutes after my reply I received a responds confirming that they were able to download the application. Only a few hours later my application was ready for sale.
