MindNode 1.0.1 beta 1 (443)

March 28, 2008 at 8:06 pm

I updated the keyboard shortcuts in this release. Please let me know what you think of the new mapping! I’m not very happy with the mapping of the Enter-key. Perhaps I will switch the shortcut for “Enter title edit mode” and “Create new sibling node”.

(New) New Shortcuts (Shortcut may change in 1.0.1 final).
(New) Cycle root nodes.
(Update) Major Update to the way Spotlight meta data is handled (Values are commited correctly, it’s possible to undo changes and the document is marked as edited).
(Update) I’m starting to use Undo action names.
(Update) When changing the selection with the keyboard the scroll view will scroll to display the node if required.
(Fix) ESC aborts title editing and restores original node title.
(Fix) Root Node dash style is drawn correctly.
(Fix) Undo when editing node title.
(Fix) Substitution Menu removed.

I think it’s ultimately a matter of personal preference. Hitting enter for edit mode is closer to the Mac Finder, but what is more important when brainstorming- creating new nodes or renaming old ones? I think in general brainstorming and creativity is focused on creating rather than editing ideas. But there’s really no right or wrong way here, so it’s difficult to make a choice…
